Tea Lady Me :)

On sunday, I helped set up and serve tea and coffee at the Tacky Annee's first Tea Party. It was a great evening and I really enjoyed the time there, even the washing up was ok! :P
Thanks to Maggie and Geoff for letting me come and help and I hope to help out in anyway I can in future!
So now we're on the count down to the total. This weeks overall total is £3090, only £410 to go. I'm soooooo excited as we have recently had a  meeting on what we're going to do and see whilst we're out there. To look at our updated itinery and photos from Miss P's trip, click the link below....

From the fete I did in Temple Ewell today I raised £46, so a Big Thank you to everyone who bought something from my stall.
This is probably the last event that I will do before Christmas so have a Merry Christmas :)

A little creativity :)

So recently, we've had the half term, so I've been able to get my crafty fingers going.
On the 3rd Dec I have Christmas fete in Temple Ewell, so I've made a few Christmasy bits to sell :)

I made Christmas bags, cards, calendars and wreaths so I have plenty to sell on my table :)
I also got a bit nifty with my nail art, here's a few of my favourite examples

Penguins, Leopard print and Pacman
I am hoping to make my nail painting services more publicly known and maybe some 'How to do it yourself' leaflets so keep an eye out for one of those.
Let me know what you think :)

Being a Washer-Uper...

Since I've started back at school again it's been hard to find time to raise money but on Friday I was given a little job to do at one of my parent's friends Birthday party.
It was a 40's swing dance theme and there was lots of music, a band and A LOT of guests, which all had to be fed. So I was in the kitchen along with my younger brother, my parents and Maggie (the hostess) making pies to feed all 80 guests, microwaving mushy peas, dishing it up on the plates and then serving it to the guests.
But what comes out full must come back empty..... and dirty! Which meant that for the remainder of the evening my brother and I washed up! It was hard work and it took a long time but it was worth it as it meant that everyone else could go and enjoy the rest of the evening.
I would like to say a BIG Thank You Maggie and Geoff for allowing me to come and do work for them and I hope that you both had a great evening!
Just to finish I thought I would show you a photo of me actually doing some washing up, to prove that I did do it! Hopefully I should be getting another photo of the whole kitchen team soon, keep looking out for it :)

Capel Garage Safari a Success!

On Sunday, I took part in a garage sale up in Capel and it was extremely successful. I sold most of my stock and made £105 to go in the Borneo fund (which is the biggest single earner I have done as of yet!) I'm hoping to fit in a couple more boot fairs before the seasons ends, so I'll let you know when those are but after that it's time to start selling stuff on eBay ;)
Obviously now that we're back to school finding the time to earn money will be harder but we are hoping to hold a quiz night, a disco, I'm trying to sort out my Festival in the Hall idea and a Halloween disco has been proposed too so lots to orgainse.
Make sure you keep checking out the website every now and then to keep up-to-date with all of our achievements. :)

Deadline 1...

So today is the deadline for the second installment (£1392) and I'm happy to say that at 11.50pm on the 31st August, I made it (with 10 minutes to spare). A last ironing session meant that I had the money just in time :)
But ironing was not the worst job I have had to do this week.

Above is a picture of my parents car, which they took to a festival and drove around a field for the bank holiday weekend... so i spent all of tuesday afternoon cleaning the mud off of it :)

Todays Boot Fair

So today I did a boot fair on Folkestone Sea front :)
It was a slow boot fair but everyone was interested and very helpful and I plan to go back again. It was also sunny which made it rather pleasant!
Just to let you know how I'm doing I now have £1177 and should hopefully have the £1300 raised by the 1st Sept so I am really happy that I am on target.

£1000 Reached!

Yes that's right; I have reached £1000 towards my fund which is a MASSIVE achievement! The majority of this is from doing house hold chores, boot fairs and working during the holidays.
Getting this much now is really encouraging that I will reach the £3500 goal and I am looking forward to some of the activities that will take place in the future to help raise the remaining £2500 :)
Also I have now set up a website for the Borneo group so save it to your favourites so you can keep up to date with events happening in the future and read some more on the expedition.

Guess who's Back

So, I'm back from holiday and ready to get back to raising money.
On Saturday 13th August I am going to a bootfair on Shorecliffe road so come along in the morning if you can :) obviously it's weather permitting but hopefully it should be good :)
I've been doing lots of work and next week I am doing a slave week, by just doing lots of house hold chores for my family so hoepfully I will be even closer to getting the amount needed by 1st Sept.
An up date on how we did with previous events, 22nd July was a busy day! During the day there was nail painting at my school and from that we earnt £46 and in the evening we did a slave auction and from that we have earnt nearly £1300 so a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came, helped and donated towards the event :)
Other plans which should hopefully happen in the future are FestiHall and climbing Mount Snowdon in Wales but I will let you know more about those as they happen :)
Speak again soon :D

A Busy Weekend...

Well, what a weekend I've had! Super busy!
Friday - Nail Painting and Slave Auction
Saturday - Bootfair
Sunday - Car wash and Hoovering cars
Monday - Work, Van wash and hoover X2 and Grass Cut
From all of this I have raised just over £100, but that's not including the Slave Auction so hopefully I'll have a bit more to come from that!
So now I am over £780 which, for the time I've had to raise it, is really good and I'm on target to getting my 40% of the final £3500 for the 1st Sept :)
So hopefully after my holiday in France next week I'll be getting back to normal fundraising :)
Here's a nice picture from the slave auction in our tshirts :)
Speak soon :)

Rain, rain, go away...

Hi all,
So as you probably saw, yesterday was quite wet, which meant that the bootfair was rained off :( sad times
But I had a feeling that this would be the case so I have a back-up bootfair on:
Saturday 23rd July at Hawkinge Cricket Club, Cricketers Close, public allowed in from 9.30

Also remember that the Slave auction is still on at Folkestone Rugby Club on the Friday 22nd July from 7.30, so make sure you get your ticket ASAP! It should be a really good fun, with lots going on, the auction, a raffle, photos taken during the night and available to buy, T-shirts that we've created are also available to buy too.

Another event that I have been able to organise for the last a day of term, Friday 22nd July, at the Folkestone School for Girls at Lunch Time is Nail Paining in the Main School Conservatory for the girls at the school. There will be varing prices from £1.00 for just one colour, £2.00 for a base colour and a design ontop and £3.00 for a shape and paint. All include a top coat to prevent chipping a so they last during the summer. I'm doing this at school because I am auctioning myself for nail painting at the auction in the evening and will be interested in what people have to say about it.

Finally, I have been emailing my headteacher about organising a festival event in the school hall in September called FestiHall and she is interested in meeting up and discussing the idea further so hopefully once I meet up with her on Tuesday there should be some new information on this excitig event, so keep your ears peeled and up-to-date with this blog :)

Hopefully see you soon at an event and lets all hope this rain goes away for the holidays :)

Events coming up!

Hey all!
There's lots of events happening in the next couple of weeks that I would like to invite you to so you can come and support my fundraising :)
Sat 16th July - Bootfair at Shornecliff, Folkestone, 7:45am to 11:30am--> you should be able to find me in there as I will have a HUGE sign saying 'FSG Expedition to Borneo' entry is free and you will be able to look around all the other stalls too. This is NOT organised by the Borneo group, this is just a bootfair that I am going along to.
Fri 22nd July - Slave Auction, Folkestone Rugby Club, 19:30pm to midnight --> a night of fun, me and the other girls going to Borneo will be auctioning ourselves off to do various tasks, from singing lessons to nail painting. Also, there will be a few of the rugby boys being auctioned off for dates, a raffle, karaoke and a disco. Tickets are available at £5 for reservation or bought in advance and £6 on the door.

More events will be coming up at a later date!
Hope to see you soon :)

An Introduction

Ok so here's an introduction to The Borneo Experience 2012.
In the Summer of 2012, a group of girls from Folkestone School for Girls and I are going on a 4 week expedition to Borneo. Whilst out there, we are going on a jungle trek, to work with the local communities, to plant trees and a visit to an orang-utan sanctuary.
To get there we each have to raise £3500, which is a lot of money! By doing lots of fundraising events, from bootfairs to an auction of promises, we intend to raise the money needed to go.
It's a lot of work but hopefully it will all be worth it, especially if I can share it with you! On this blog, I hope to post about events that I intend to raise money on, important milestones in the money raising, lots of pictures and vidoes and when I get back from Borneo, LOADS more photos and a day by day diary of what we did out there.
Feel free to ask questions and like posts as I really want people to get involved.
I hope that you can follow my journey with me and support me every step of the way!
